About Us

Pride NoveltiesWelcome to our little world here at Pride Novelties, LLC located in Maryland. What there is to know about us is? I am an artist. I am a mother and a proud member of the LGBT community. I have always wanted to be a business owner, but an owner of what. I am an individual with many talents; which caused more confusion about what I wanted to do in terms of a business. From childhood into adulthood; I’ve always had a love for creating beautiful things and it didn’t matter what it was. My catchphrase represents my general thought about life and what it does for me. Expressing my true self in any and everything I do is about me not being afraid to be me. I love sculpting and ceramics most of all. I love drawing and painting as well; I do these activities with my children. In comparing Pride Novelties to my past experience as a first-time mom and in a sense this new startup company is, in fact, a new child.

My resume includes graduating from the Baltimore School for the Arts and continued studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art until I decided I didn’t want to be a “Starving Artist”. So, I graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources Management. My education also includes 27 graduate credits that were leading to a Master’s in Public Administration when I decided to discontinue that path. After twenty-five years in the public sector, I decided to revisit my passion for art in my spare time. As a youngster, I remember wanting to teach art in schools, but I did not want the restrictions that are present in the classrooms and more so today. All forms of art is a freeing practice that is practiced and developed over time.

Why not have your youngsters sit for an actual tutoring session and learn something while being entertained? I like to incorporate age-appropriate art (drawing) or activities in any of my academic sessions to keep my students engaged and entertained.

I love to wear jewelry; however, what I like was hard to find and/or very expensive. So, I began playing around with jewelry component and polymer clay. My first creation was a gay pride necklace below.

While nurturing my new business; I came across something I hadn't seen before and that was wire wrap jewelry. First, I learned how to make the basic wire wrapped ring. So, I made ring after ring after ring; before I had about fifty rings looking back at me.
